The Big Move

This afternoon Davis moved from the ICN, where he has lived since he was born, to the Transitional Care Nursery (TCN). We are one huge step closer to being home and so excited. One of the first things he did once he got there was have a bath... you can see what he thought about it.

Some of you may know this, but the survival rate for CDH is 50%. We look at Davis and feel such overwhelming gratitude that he is here with us, breathing on his own and continuing to do well. So many families- those dealing with CDH and otherwise- are not so lucky. Tonight, our hearts are broken. Joseph, a beautiful CDH baby boy, passed away after 23 days on this earth. Please pray for his parents, Sky and Carla, that they might find peace.

Keep fighting Davis and show your mommy and daddy you can eat!! So happy that you are making progress to "H"!! Love the bath picture--one of these days he will love his bath and it will be hard to get him out of it!!

My thoughts and prayers go out to Joseph's family. I can't even imagine.

I am so proud of Davis, and I love to see his little face crinkled with disapproval in the bath. I want to meet him! I'm so happy he got to make that transition and for everything it signifies. I love you all so much, and continue to pray daily.

See you soon!
Much love,

Davis is already home, you just haven't taken him there yet. The "bonding" that the three of you have done during this ordeal, the intensity of it, is really something a lot of parents do not experience. This as much as anything has made Davis "special" and with that sort of solid footing, he is assured a chance at a grand and glorious life...

Congratulations Davis! What a stud. Try not to give mom and dad such a hard time when they bathe you...trust me, you probably need it :). Those hospitals are icky!

Oh my, he is a cutie! I haven't been here before but just realized that I've read about y'all on some of the other CDH sites. Wow I have been missing out...Davis's eyes are a treat, he is so stinkin' cute! Congrats on his amazing progress!

My CDH survivor, Audrey, is nearing 3, she was born just a few days before sweet Angel Parker.

I'll be sending y'all good feeding vibes!!

My thoughts and prayers are with Joseph's family - and also Davis' family too.

Davis - you will enjoy baths one day with boats and splashing! Trust me - boys in bath tubs have lots of fun and make a whole lot of mess!

Peace,
Elizabeth
