Davis is doing extremely well here at home. He likes to look around at everything in and out of the house. He pretty much stays at home with one of us unless he has a doctor's visit. We did take a walk around the college for Carolyn's birthday but he was out for the whole thing. He loves his crib and his mobile which is exactly like the one Nurse Shanda let him use while he was in the hospital. Aunt Katie Grace brought it over today.

His feeding is really going a lot better. He has successfully taken his whole feed several times for us, but for most of them, he kind of poops out before he finishes. It is exhausting him to try to suck swallow and breathe all at the same time with his undersized left lung but he is doing better every time. On the last Doctor visit Davis had gained an ounce a day weighing in at 7lbs 14 ozs. We are so proud of our little turtle....

By the way, Davis misses his nurses.

Is'nt life Grand?

Davis - you're looking absolutely perfect! I can hardly wait to meet you - and give your mom and dad a giant hug (I miss them you know). And you know what? Your dad is right, I feel music flowing through you...healing music.

Surrounded by LOVE. That's the key.

Blessings to the Ashworth FAMILY...

Ashworth family,
We are so happy to read that Davis went home and that you guys and gals are adjusting. We get so wrapped up in our own lives and "normalcy", and let things that are "tough" get the best of us, and then, God reminds us that His work here on Earth is proof enough that we should take each moment as a blessing, whatever that moment is...good or 'not so good', and be thankful for everything and everyone we have, and everything and everyone He's ever given us and taken away, for He knows best. I am thankful for this day, and thankful that you both have this beautiful little boy to hold in your arms and to love. Who ever knew that we could love someone so much? He is so special...and he is yours. God bless you--and Davis, you hang in there and be tough...those feeds will get easier. Sooner than later, you'll be a pro!

Thoughts and prayers!

Just wanted to drop in and let you know that although I haven't posted, I have kept up with your son's journey and have prayed for your family very diligently. I am thankful to see that he is home and doing so well. I have a son who survived CDH and know full-well what you have experienced. I'll keep a check in on him, but he sure is a cutie and looks great!
