What an AMAZING little boy! So glad that Davis is doing so well! I just love watching him grow! Way to fight CDH little man! :-) Enjoy the rest of your summer! Sheryl
At around 18 weeks gestation, our son, Davis Michael, was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). CDH is rare, occurring in approximately 1 in 3000 births, and is a hole or absence of the diaphragm that allows stomach contents to move into the chest. In our case, a large amount of intestinal matter and the stomach moved into Davis' chest, displacing his heart and compromising his lung growth. He was born on January 30, 2009 at 1:05 am, and finally discharged on March 10.
