We Love Daddy
Happy first Father's day, Michael. You have been an amazing father since the day I told you we were going to be parents. You are the heart and soul of our family and we love you so much!
At around 18 weeks gestation, our son, Davis Michael, was diagnosed with Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). CDH is rare, occurring in approximately 1 in 3000 births, and is a hole or absence of the diaphragm that allows stomach contents to move into the chest. In our case, a large amount of intestinal matter and the stomach moved into Davis' chest, displacing his heart and compromising his lung growth. He was born on January 30, 2009 at 1:05 am, and finally discharged on March 10.
